MPSA seeks to feature blog posts that focuses on research relevant to current topics in the media, teaching trends and professional development. The blog will be a place for MPSA to highlight the vast amount of knowledge held within and created by members of our community.
Just as the MPSA conference concentrates on the best thinking in the discipline, informed by theory, research and practical application, we expect our bloggers to do the same.
What you can gain: You will gain an audience for your ideas, experience in digital media and an opportunity to expand your online visibility among peers in the discipline. You will be expected to research, craft and edit articles that appeal to members of our community including political science scholars, social scientists, media and the informed public.
While MPSA will support your work by hosting it on the blog and promoting via our social media channels, we expect those who write for us to:
- Submit well-written original content.
- Suggest an awesome title.
- Keep it brief (1000 words max).
- Include complete references when referencing specific concepts and statistics.
- Keep any self-promotion within the bounds of the brief author bio.
- Share published content with your networks via social media.
If a post is approved for the blog, it may be lightly edited and returned to the author for final approval. MPSA reserves the right to make minor grammatical and punctuation edits for style without author approval. Already blogging? We’re happy to cross-promote your posts!
Email your blog post to MPSA for consideration.
In addition to regular contributors, MPSA also seeks guest bloggers and vloggers to cover the most popular panels and events at the upcoming conference in Chicago. Conference bloggers and vloggers will be awarded a stipend. If interested in either of those opportunities, please let us know that as well.
